Farewell

Out of the depths of darkness
I emerge
Shedding layers of sorrow
No longer to succumb
Diminutive ember of life lingers
In my soul
I’m animate
I must bid you farewell
Dear one
Until our spirits meet again

  1. Brenda, this is a beautiful poem! Almost as a soulful prayer. I enjoy your writings more than you may think. You are a very, very good writer.

  2. We burried the 18 year old son of one of my dear friends this week. This is so fitting.

  3. Yes Loree, I followed your post and the news about the accident and the death of your friend's young son. My heart breaks for his family and all of his extended family and friends. We don't always understand God's timing, but we know he has a plan for all of us.
I hope you share this poem with your friends at some point when the horrible shock and disbelief of the loss of their son settles into their reality.
God Bless them and you cousin.

    Brenda
