Echoes of War

Sadness flows
Through his veins
Engulfing every fiber
Of his body...

Deep in the
Dark corners
Of his mind
He questions the purpose
Of his life...

Death seems to be
The answer
To end
His torment,
Silence the
Screaming
Echoes of war
In his head...

Young men he knew
So full of life
Gone in an instant...

For what?
For politics,
Money,
Power,
For oil?

He punishes himself
For living!
He hates
His own being...

Shuns love...
Those who try
To love him
Break themselves
Against his wall of
Rejection!

Before he can love
Another
He must learn
To love himself...
Again!

Arlington

Walk softly on this sacred ground
Where American heroes can be found
Resting now after hard battles fought
Paid with their lives for freedom sought
Young men who gave their ultimate best
From north, south, east and west
Side by side row by row
Throughout the years their numbers grow
Spiritual brothers with a special bond
No words spoken to respond
Listen to the gentle breeze
Watch a soldier fall to his knees
Wishing he was in the grave
He’d gladly take his brother’s place
For his country, for me and you
Brave heroes died for red white and blue

A Slender Thread

Here today
Gone tomorrow
Bittersweet memories
Filled with laughter
Love and sorrow
We walk
The slender thread
Of existence
Faltering footsteps
Unpredictable distance
Leaving imprints
On broken hearts
When it’s our time
To depart
What legacy
Of you
Shall remain
One of love
Or one of
Disdain

Bringer of Light

Cold dead heart
Seething hatred flows
Through veins of ancient
Winding worm holes
Where warm life
Once did glow
Bringer of Light
Angel of dark
Beautiful one
Morning Star spark
Black spirit
Lost your light
Millennia ago
Hunger for supremacy
Feeds the emptiness
Of your tortured
Soul
Vengeance you seek
For the loss of your throne
Cast from the Heavens
Separation from the Creator
Drove you insane
The lack of His love
The song in His name
Favor shall never be yours
Sentenced to an eternity of shame
Your only pleasure
Is to cause the world pain

If I Were A Liberal

If I were a liberal, I must toss aside
Common sense, and morality for all humankind
Everyone could do, as they damn well please
I would have no regrets, for any action I take
No apologies for a false statement I make
I wouldn’t have to rely on facts
Nor the blood shed from our forefathers’ back's
NOOOO
What is important to me, is that everyone
Is equal and free
To rely on my government, to take care of me
If I were a liberal, here’s what I’d think
Not much of that going on now
Of that there’s no need
Murder the babies, save the cons
Curse your flag, from dusk till dawn
Damn... heterosexual marriage
And Christians too
What are they thinking
Are they better than you
Support United Nations
They’re our salvation
Soldiers are obsolete
Pathetic and crude, so what if they bled
Who asked them too
If I were a liberal, I wouldn’t care
What happened to my America
Or anyone there
But I’m not a liberal
I still believe, in the home of the brave
The land of the free
I still love God, country, and my family
So call me a racist or a bigot
Or whatever you will
You’ll never change the
Way that I think, or the way that I feel
Patriotic to the core
Through and through
Forever I’ll bleed, red white and blue

Pyrite Regression

They take your land
And leave you a rock
They take your water
And leave you a drop
They take your heat
And leave you to freeze
They take your wind
And tax your breeze
They take your sweat
Say you owe a debt
They twist your words
And arrest your thoughts
They take your protection
Only they can have weapons
They break your will
And send you the bill
They promise equality
You’re no longer free
Their pyrite regression is
Cleverly disguised
As progression
