Thief of joy,
All that you touch
Renders likely disaster…
Weakness you bring
To once strong beings,
Ruthlessly stealing their
Hopes and unfinished dreams…
Brazenly raising your ugly head
Where you’re least expected,
Once gleeful spirits
Now feeling justly dejected…
Devastating lives of both,
Young and old,
Ravaging minds and bodies,
But you can’t destroy the soul…
For if the battle with you
Ends in their defeat,
They shall soar with the angels
And land at God’s feet!
