In middle eastern
Nations of hate
I pray for the women
And their dreaded fate
Treated as possessions
Without a voice
Silenced in darkness
She has no choice
Woe to be born a woman
In their man ruled world
Routine self-righteous slaughter
To disobedient unyielding
Wives nieces sisters
And daughters
Unloved beautiful creatures
Slave
Demeaned beaten and
Legally raped
Falsely accused
Of fictitious crimes
If she dares step out of
Line
Sentenced to a punishment
Of barbaric stones
Until her soft flesh
Is ripped
From her body
Baring blood and bones
The world is aware
Of our sisters plight
I pray for her strength
And her will to fight
We must band together
Scream out for justice
Political intervention
Help give our sisters
Equality
Speak out against
Gender discrimination and
Senseless Brutalization

Amen...we must reach out and support our sisters. Thanks for this poem about a most important issue.
ReplyDeleteYes Judith, there is so much injustice for women, even in this day and age! I get so frustrated because I'm not in a postion to help them. I don't know that writing about these issues help either, but maybe someone will see that people really do care what others go through.
