Insignificant

Disappointment I hide
Behind a brave smile
I understand
I say
As I feel my heart cry
Layers of patches
Over gaping wounds
Almost healed
As a fresh one blooms
Concealed in a box
I put on a shelf
Decades of pain
I’ve been dealt
The box is full
Ready to burst
Emotions overflow
But what is
Worse
Is dreaming that
To you
I’m someone
Very important
When
In reality
I’m just
Above
Insignificant
