Let Them Pass

Dark clouds hover high above, as tyrants plot to destroy
This sacred land of which American Patriots love…

War vets who bravely answered their beloved country’s call,
Are now denied entrance tTHEIR gallantly earned statues and memorial walls

Arrogant politicians insolently forget,
This great country owes an enormous debt of gratitude to her military Vets

Fading away slowly with age, WWII’once young men should be highly revered,
Until they’re honorably laid to rest in a hero’s grave

They are the U.S. Marines, who fought valiantly hand to hand,
Destroying our enemies on hostile blood soaked foreign sand…

They’re Soldiers, who landed on the beaches of Normandy,
Charging forward amid lifeless fallen comrades, to keep our country free

They’re Seamen, who pounded their targets nonstop with bombs of fury
And Airmen, who flew dangerous missions upon silver wings of glory

The generations more recently, who fought in Korea and Vietnam
Securing freedom as an inheritance to America’s future children

The younger vets of Iraq, Afghanistan too…
Deserve better treatment than they receive from haughty political fools…

Shame on you Mr. President and your sycophant disrespectful cronies!
To these heroic men and women, you’re ALL nothing but greedy lying phonies!

They are the ones, who have unselfishly sacrificed flesh and bone,
While you sit comfortably upon your sanctimonious bloody White House throne!

Some may be feeble, tired and old, but they still have a fire
Burning deep within their virtuous soul
Mr. President, remove the barriersopen the gates, and let them pass,
Before they storm your gates of spite like yesteryear’s battles,
And embarrass your anti-American ass!

He Is Gone

Stop the clocks,
Turn off the lights,
Silence the laughter
Of children playing,
He is gone….

Draw the curtains,
Latch the doors,
Leave us
In our time of sorrow,
He is gone…

He was our strength
In moments of weakness,
A beacon of light
To guide us,
He was our compass
When we lost our way,
Our voice when we couldn’t speak,
He shared his wisdom
When we were unwise,
He was the heart of our family.
And now…
He is gone.

Forgiveness

Oh despair
Inconsolable soul,
Haunted by past sins
From by gone days of old

Burdened with deep remorse,
Amid constant reminder
By beloved impervious brood
Binding torturous shackles
Revivify brittle aging wounds

Countless attempts at redemption
Seem impossible to gain
Sadly the beast of rage succumbs,
Feeding an appetite for vengeance,
Savoring the taste of perpetual pain

Glaring dark eyes give an embittered glance,
Youthful tongue utters sharp lexis,
Piercing a still mourning heart
With its bloodthirsty willful lance….

Alas, the spirit grows weary and frail,
Fraught with intense tormented regrets,
Attempting futilely to make amends,
Shedding impenetrable tears of distress and fret

Forgiveness, the key to peace of mind,
Beautiful white wings of freedom,
A quenching drop of cool clear water
To soul’s embedded burning guilt….

Longing for that glorious day,
When my lips, for the last time declare
Two heartfelt words to you, “I’m sorry”
yearn to witness your eyes and mouth say,
Sincerely “I forgive you”

My Silent Scream

Who will consider me?
For I have not yet emerged…

Who will speak for me?
For I have no words…

Who will stand up for me?
For I’m much too small…

Who will fight for me
Against man’s brutal law?

I’m growing everyday
In my mother’s womb,
As they lead her to
A cold sterile room…

My comfort is her beating heart
Until I feel my body
 Violently ripping apart…

No one thought of whom I’d become,
I’ll never ever play,
I’ll never laugh or run…
No one came to rescue me…
No one heard
My silent scream!

The Color of Hate

The blade has no sense of hate,
Nor can a gun or its bullet
An enemy make

Hands are directed by
Evils ominous plan…
Tearing and thrashing,
Delivering brutal blows to
Their fellow man

Blood spilled for vengeance,
Greed, power or envy…
From the beginning of time,
Vain notion of superiority…
The tragic human fallacy

Dwelling much deeper
Than the pigment of skin,
More intricate than dialect,
Global location or
Disparity of religion

The color of hate
Has no tincture at all
It’s the beast of darkness
Occupying anguished barren souls

Chiraq (Chicago) American War Zone

CHICAGO

Chi Town

Chiraq

Leads Nation’s highest crime rate

For black on black
Swept under the rug of ugly truth,
Lap dog media ignores the city’s slain youth

Young teens gunned down
In poverty stricken mean streets
No respect for fragile life
At all,
Brutality is their cold cultured law!

Meanwhile back in Washington D.C.,
President, preachers and Mr. A.G.
Have no time or interest to intervene
Focusing on crucifying a fair skin innocent man,
Feeding their racially divisive political plan!

You won’t hear reverend Al’s plea,
Shouting “Justice for Darryl Green!”

Or any other murdered kid’s name…
They’re dispensable in his unholy hypocritical game!

Strict gun laws crush good citizen’s right

To protect themselves in the survival fight
Leader of the bloody town, Mayor Emanuel,
Denies he oversees city streets of Hell!

CHICAGO

Chi Town

Chiraq

Overwhelmed by corruption, thugs and drugs…
Ground soaked with mother’s tears

Mixed with her dead child’s blood!
Mr. Obama’s former ILLinois home
Shameful display of an

American War Zone!

Reverend Sharp Tongue

Screecher  preacher
Man of faith?
Your message is lethal
Full of hate

Race baiting phony
Man of God?
Disgracing His name
By acts of fraud

Line your pockets with
Blood soaked cash
Stabbing opponents
In the back

Reverend Sharp Tongue
Change your wicked heart
Before you’re
Fanning Satan’s spark

Puget Sound

Water so blue
You can barely tell where the ocean ends
Or where the sky begins

White billowing clouds dancing high above in the cool breeze,
Keeping time with the cracks of the waves kissing the shoreline

The familiar sound of screeching Sea Birds frantically begging for food…
Sailboats glide across the crystal blue Puget Sound
As though they’re sailing on glass

Surrounded by majestic snowcapped mountains and
Tall lanky forest green pines,
I relish in the beauty of God’s canvas.

 For Verna

We're Not So Different

Must we act black or white

Must we always curse and fight

Proud heritage, our weak excuse

For spilling red liquid pools

Each other’s blood soaks the ground
Breaking hearts, the only sound

Precious life, the price of pride

While the ill-fated slowly dies

Adults instill the color of hate
In a youthful mind’s fresh clean slate

Shame on us, as we silently watch
While sweet innocence swiftly rots

We’re not so different, you and me

We both want respect and to live free
We must release our hate filled past

Live as brothers and sisters
Just human beings, at last!

Unraveling Nation

I look around at this place,
Rubbing my eyes
Trying to focus,
I don’t recognize Uncle Sam’s face!

Liberties disappearing
Much to a Patriot’s utter dismay,
Attacked by political weapons,
No need for a gun,
Quick with the stroke of a pen...
Hiss of a snake’s tongue!

Strangers climbing broken fences scream...
"To Hell with laws, we're stealing your American dream!"
All the while big wigs talk and gloat,
"Let everyone in,
We need their vote!"

Morals gone, anything goes!
Right is wrong,
Wrong is the new right,
Scorned and mocked,
Christianity’s foretold plight!

I mourn for my America
drowning in the cess pool
Of man's greed and degradation,
Bowing my head,
I pray, "God,please save our
Unraveling Nation!"

Lovely Flowers

Faded floral petals
Neatly placed
Between the pages
Of my family Bible…

Gingerly I pick one up,
Hold it to my nose and inhale…
Beautiful scent gone…
As is the vibrant color of its bloom...

Witness to my tears
Of joy and sorrow...
Weddings, funerals,
Birth of a brand new child…

Lovely flowers
Meant to comfort or celebrate
Life’s momentous occasions…
Keepsakes of my heart!

If they could speak,
Oh how divine!
To recall their
Bittersweet memories
Amongst God’s words.

THE BEST

Hate fills a shallow heart
Consumed with self righteousness…

Reflections of a broken past
Flash in my mind’s eye…

I swallow my pride
For the greater faction…

Forget self and reach for
A higher existence…

It can be done,
But at what cost?

Another slice of my heart
Served on a silver platter?

The feeling of betrayal
Awakened anew!

Love turned to loathing…
How can that be?

I was once THE BEST!
Your words…

Your lies shall be your
Legacy!

I voiced it…
Now, I can breathe.

The Athiest

The abyss of evil
Lurking on the edge
Of consciousness…
Waiting for fools
To succumb to death

Collecting souls,
Dark prince rejoices…
Relishing in
Tormented screams of regret
He hears in their voices

“Oh God, dear God
Help me please!”
As a faithless being cries,
Begging on his knees

Wicked laughter engulfs
Both time and space…
Lucifer cruelly hisses and
Tightly grabs the man’s face

“He can’t hear you, he says,
You’re wasting your time…
You scoffed at His name
And now you are mine”

Abruptly startled awake,
Trembling in a cold sweat…
The man leaps to his feet,
Out of his bed

He shouts, “I’m alive!”
He calls upon the Lord…
Angels rush to his side
Bearing their mighty swords

Satan growls a beastly noise
Furiously he runs away…
The atheist weeps tears of joy…
Bowing his head,
He begins to pray!

Texas Cries With You West

Springtime brings fields
Of bluebonnets in bloom...
Familiar sound of coyotes
Howlin’ at the moon

Starry Texas nights and
Lightning bug chases...
Laughter of children
With Popsicle faces

A friendly “Howdy”
Tip of a cowboy hat...
“How y’all doin’?”
At the Friday night dance

Hard work, hard play
Our way of life...
There are no strangers
When tragedy strikes

Last call of brave men
On that fateful day...
Won’t be coming home,
Too soon, whisked away

Fond memories now
Are all that’s left
Of those selfless souls
From the small town of West

Thousands gather together
Bidding a final goodbye...
Not a person in sight
Can boast a dry eye

Texas cries with you West
You’re not alone,
Remember….
We’re in this together
Till the Lord calls us home
