She Wakes

She wakes!
Only to find
Her life is now changed...

Yesterday clung
To the stroke of midnight,
Darkness hung on
Till the dawning of light...
Bring back the days
Of her young hearts delight!

For today,
Mourning the loss
Of her dear Mother
Is her sorrowful plight.

  1. God Bless you Brenda! I feel your pain dear friend. Your mother, a beautiful soul, surrounded now by God's Love, for I know, your dear mother was as well, Love itself. I pray you find peace. I pray for your dear heart to be comforted. I pray your dear mother's love to always remain with you, as I am sure she will, blessing you with heartfelt thoughts to Our Heavenly Father, and guard you both.

I am so sorry you grieve so. Your dear mother has already touched my life in a way you may not realize. She was a loving, beautiful lady of love and I will always remember her tender smile.

    Bless you Brenda!

  2. Thank you John, and although I miss my mother terribly, this poem was written for a friend of mine who lost her mother last week. I wanted her to know that she's not alone in her sorrow.

  3. Hello Brenda, that is a simple, beautiful poem. Von loves it and so do I. I have known and loved them for the past 40 years and I miss them all since I live here in SC now. Mama Black is one in a million and I sure will miss her. I got to see her in April and I'm thankful for that. God bless you.

  4. Thanks Jim, I'm glad that you and Von like my poem. I'm sure Mrs. Black will be sorely missed.
I lost my mother to lung cancer last year and I just wanted Nancy to know that I share in her sorrow.
    God Bless you and yours.
