Evil presence lingers
Shadows whisk by
Is it a dream
Fear envelopes
The core of my soul
Hissing whispers
Pierce the silence
Body paralyzed
Heart pounding
In my throat
Eyes tightly closed
Conversant, “I know you.”
Touch of cold creeping flesh.
“Come, I’m your friend.”
Conveyance of pure black dread.
Away from me,
We’ve battled before!
I need speak aloud
One name to conquer you…
“Yeshua”
I open my eyes
