Water

Water oh glorious water
Without you men die
Your power is from God
One gift, which cannot be denied
You are a gentle mist
Falling gracefully from heaven
You are a fierce flood
Rushing over the earth
Destroying everything
Standing in your path
You quench a parched soul
You drown a weakened body
You cleanse ever so gently
Your strength moves mountains
You are the tears of joy and sorrow
Many have met their doom
With visions of you
Never within their grasp
Sailed your powerful fingertips
Tossing mighty vessels of steel
Like feathers in the wind
You give life to the lush fields of green
Tormented souls in Hell beg for
One cool drop of you
To no avail
Truly you are a gift from God

  1. Absolutely wonderful Brenda...I really enjoyed the lines, "Never within their grasp
    Sailed your powerful fingertips
    Tossing mighty vessels of steel
    Like feathers in the wind;"
